Hola!! Hemos vuelto después de unas largas vacaciones que nos han sentado de maravilla!! Gracias por todos los mensajes que me habeis dejado. Ya estamos instalados en Madrid y además tenemos a un nuevo miembro en la familia!! Se trata de un teckel miniatura que como podeis apreciar en la foto es super chiquitín y muy guapo!! Romeo está encantado y los dos juegan mucho y duermen juntos. Prometo más fotos pronto.

Hi! We're back from our long holidays! Thanks for all the messages. We're back in Madrid and with a new member in the family!! It's a miniature dachshund and as you can see in the pic he's tiny and very cute!! Romeo is very happy and they play and sleep together!! I'll post more pics soon, promise!!

No sé que le pasa hoy a blogger que me descoloca todo. No he podido poner las fotos en el orden que quería pero bueno....
Os digo hasta pronto porque me tomo un descansito. Al final del verano (o puede que antes) volveré y mientras tanto no os preocupeis que seguiré leyendoos y comentando.
Vuelvo a Madrid la semana que viene para ocuparme del nuevo trabajo y de la nueva casa. Me adelanto yo sola porque Mr.R y Romeo tienen que quedarse aqui todavía un mes más asi es que vamos a estar separados todo ese tiempo y se me va a hacer muy duro (no concibo la vida sin tener a mis "dos erres" cerquita).Pero luego el reencuentro será magnífico verdad?? Gracias por todo vuestro cariño y apoyo. Hasta pronto!! ♥

I don't know what's wrong with blogger today that is messing everything up. I haven't been able to put the pictures in the order I wanted, anyway....
I'm finally going to take a little "blog vacation". I'll be back by the end of the summer or even before. Of course I'll still read your blogs so don't worry, we'll be in touch. I need to go to Madrid next week to take care of my new job and our new house. I'm going alone because Mr.R and Romeo have to stay in Sofia one more month so we're going to be apart all that time and it's going to be terribly hard to not have them by my side everyday (hopefully the reunion will be magnificent). thank you for all your love and support. Broken nose

Teniamos un viaje al Mar Negro planeado para este fin de semana pero Mr.R ha sufrido un pequeño accidente jugando al fútbol y se ha roto la nariz. Fuimos al hospital más cercano corriendo y le pegaron la herida con un pegamento especial que por lo visto se usa mucho ahora. Pero seguiamos preocupados por la rotura asi es que decidimos que cogiera el primer vuelo de la mañana a Madrid y que le viera un especialista. Y menos mal!! porque le han tenido que dar cuatro puntos, por lo visto el pegamento que usaron aqui no estaba bien aplicado y la herida se estaba infectando y estaba abierta. Ahora ya estamos mas tranquilos y sabemos que la herida está bien cosida y que casi no le quedará marca.
Lo peor de todo ha sido el susto y luego que aqui estoy yo solita otra vez con Romeo otra semana entera más (Mr.R tiene que esperar en Madrid a que le quiten los puntos dentro de una semana) y no me siento muy animada que digamos. Sé que es algo pasajero y lo siento si veniais a ver fotos divertidas de Romeo durmiendo panza arriba y en vez de eso os estais encontrando este tostón...
Me han llamado de un par de sitios para hacer unas entrevistas de trabajo en Madrid y puede que me tome unas pequeñas vacaciones para poder ocuparme de todas estas cosas importantes que están sucediendo en mi vida en estos momentos. No pretendo cerrar el blog pero si que quiero quitarme esa estúpida presión que parece que no puedo evitar imponerme a mi misma de sentirme mal el día que no subo fotos o posteo. Pienso en toda la gente que me visita y no quiero decepcionarles. Sé que es estúpido pero me gusta tanto visitar mis blogs favoritos y ver cosas nuevas que no hacerlo en mi propio blog es como no estar a la altura. En fin, todavía no hay nada decidido, simplemente es algo que queria compartir y que necesito meditar. Os dejo por hoy que me voy al parque con Romeo a corretear y que nos de un poco el aire fresco. Que paseis un buen fin de semana ♥

We were going to go to the Black Sea this weekend and enjoy a few days in the beach but Mr.R had an accident playing socker and broke his nose. We went to the nearest hospital and they glued his nose using a special glue I had never heard of but we were still worried and we decided he should take the first flight in the morning to Madrid and have it taken care by a specialist there. And so he did and we're so glad because he had four stitches and the doctor said that now it will heal well and the scar won't be visible. The bad news is that I'm alone again with Romeo for one whole week and not feeling very cheery. I got a few phone calls about job interviews in Madrid and I'm considering taking a little "blog vacation" to concentrate on all these important things going on in my life right now. I love blogging but it might be a good moment to take a little summer holiday and just post whenever I feel like it and not because I feel the pressure of posting. I know it sounds stupid but I think about all the people that visit this blog and I can't help feeling I disappoint them if I don't post one day. Oh well, these are just things I'm thinking about, nothing definite yet. I'll keep you posted!

50 días es el tiempo que nos queda en Bulgaria y ando liada buscando casa en Madrid asi es que no le he dedicado mucho tiempo a la costura y puede que no lo haga (mucho) hasta que no resuelva varias cosas que tienen que ver con nuestro traslado. Definitivamente el tiempo pasa muy rápido, parece que fue ayer que llegamos a este país (hace dos años) y ya nos queda tan poco para abandonarlo. Echaremos de menos muchas cosas pero tengo que reconocer que tenemos muchas ganas de volver a España y empezar una nueva etapa y sobre todo ver el sol como sólo se ve en España, ay! qué maravilla! el clima de Bulgaria es más frio y sobre todo lluvioso, muy lluvioso!! que hartazgo de lluvia oye!!
Cambiando de tema, nuestro finde fue divertido y la barbacoa en casa de unos amigos ingleses fue genial aunque un poco pasada por agua para variar!! os he puesto una foto de la mesa con la comida para que veais todo lo que habia y aunque parezca mentira entre toda esa carne habia algun plato vegetariano :-) Oh y los postres estaban tambien riquisimos; tiramisu, mousse de chocolate, de limón, bombones, quesos.... para salir rodando jejejeje

50 days is the time we have left in Bulgaria and I'm busy looking for a house in Madrid so I haven't been sewing much and I may not (much) until I have figured out several things concerning our house moving. Definitely time flies, it seems it was yesterday when we arrived here. After two years we know that we'll miss some things but we're also looking forward to moving back to Spain and start a new period of our lives and most of all we're looking forward to enjoying the sun because Bulgaria is colder than Spain and very very rainy! I'm sick of the rain really!!
Changing the subject, our weekend was fun and here is a pic of what the table of the BBQ party at a friends house looked like. Believe it or not among all that meat there were some vegetarian dishes too yay!! and of course it rained!! *bummer*

Y asi de esta guisa me voy a preparar la cena porque Mr.R volverá de jugar al fútbol empapado (si está lloviendo!!!) y hambriento y luego veremos el final del documental de Al Gore sobre el cambio climatico que empezamos a ver ayer. Creo que en español lo han traducido "una verdad incómoda", lo habeis visto??

And now I'm off to make dinner (wearing my brand new apron of course) because Mr.R will be back from playing socker soon. He'll be hungry and soaked too (yeah you guessed it, it's raining!!) and then we want to watch the end of the documentary "An inconvenient truth" that we started watching last night. Have you seen it?

Fun weekend

Esta noche salgo con un grupo de amigas (es la noche de las chicas) y hemos quedado en un restaurante de comida árabe, ya os contaré que tal... Gracias por todos los ánimos que me habeis mandado por lo de mi madre, siempre me pasa igual, cuando alguien se va me quedo tristoncilla pero por suerte tengo aqui a Mr.R y a Romeo para divertirnos juntos. También he sacado tiempo para hacer otra chaquetita y sacar fotos de las fundas de cuadernos (la de arriba se la di a mi madre y la de la ultima foto se la ha llevado para dársela a mi hermana que mañana es su cumple!!)
Mañana tenemos barbacoa en casa de unos amigos ingleses y llevaré la cámara para sacar muchas fotos y enseñaroslas.
Espero que vuestro finde también esté siendo divertido.
Tonight I'm meeting some friends at a moroccan restaurant (it's the girls night out), I'm looking forward to it, I'll let you know how it went.. Thanks for all the love you sent my way yesterday when my mom left. I always feel sad when someone leaves plus we had so much fun! Luckily I have Mr.R and Romeo here to cheer me up. I also finished another little jacket for the wee bear and I took some pics of the notebook covers I wanted to show you (the one below was for my mom and the one in the last pic is for my sister who will turn 33 tomorrow!!)
Tomorrow we're going to have a barbecue party at our british friends house and I'll take my camera to take lots of pics and show you.

High maintenance

Llevamos solos Romeo y yo ya muchos dias porque Mr.R está fuera de viaje. Me sigue a todos sitios como mi sombra y no contento con eso también le gusta ponerse a dormir encima de mis pies cuando estoy cortando patrones o intentando disfrutar de un rato de costura. Cuando Mr.R está en casa compartimos la custodia pero ahora que no está él aqui soy yo la única que está al frente y tengo que confesar que echo un poquito de menos poder decirle "vete a ver a papi un rato".
Romeo and I have been on our own for few days now because Mr.R is away on a business trip. He's following me everywhere like my shadow and he even likes to sleep on my feet when I'm cutting patterns or trying to enjoy some relaxing time sewing. When Mr.R is here we share the custody but now it's only me, I'm the boss and I have to confess that I'm not crazy about it and I miss a bit being able to tell im " mom is busy, go see dad for a while".

Después de una intensa sesión de mimos en la barriga (previo chantaje de lloriqueo constante) es hora de dormir encima de la maleta del portatil de papi (asi demuestra que le echa de menos). No eres el único, yo tambien tengo ganas de que vuelva. Te adoro Romeo pero la custodia compartida es algo bueno :-)

After an intense belly rub session (after blackmailing me with constant whining) he finally falls asleep by Mr.R's notebook case (to show how much he misses him). I too want him to get back home soon. I love you Romeo but shared custody is a good thing :-)

Y mientras la bestia dormía conseguí terminar a Mecho, pero solo enseño la cabeza porque necesita que le haga algo de ropa :-) será durante la próxima siesta de Romeo digo yo.

And while the beast was sleeping I managed to finish Mecho but I only show his head because he needs me to make him some clothes! maybe during Romeo's next nap!

What's inside my tote bag

Al descargar las fotos de Estambul me di cuenta de que no os había enseñado el tote bag que me hice especialmente para el viaje. Quería un bolso grande pero a la vez cómodo de llevar y minimalista. Me gusta tanto que se ha convertido en mi favorito y lo uso todos los días! Está realizado en lino y algodón y sólo le puse entretela en las partes de arriba y abajo para que no estuviera todo rígido (esta vez quería un bolso blandito).

When I downloaded the pics from istanbul I realized I hadn't showed you the tote bag I made especially for that trip. I wanted a big tote that was comfy to carry over my shoulder and that was also minimalist. I love it sooo much that it's become my favorite and I use it everyday!! It's made from linen and cotton and I only interfaced the upper and lower parts so it wasn't all stiff (this time I wanted a soft bag).

Little bear with smock

Ayer me divertí mucho haciendo este osito. Tenía la idea en la cabeza desde hacía dias y me senté a dibujar un patrón. Me gustaba mucho pero encontraba que le faltaba algo....

Yesterday I had lots of fun making this little bear. I had been thinking about making a softie for days and I finally sat down and drew a pattern. I was very happy with it but found there was something missing....

Aha! asi está mucho mejor, con un vestidito, es que sin ropita parece que está desnuda (porque ahora es una chica). La hemos bautizado Mechka, que en búlgaro quiere decir "osa". Y ahora quiero hacerle un novio que por supuesto se llamará Mecho ("oso") jeje. Le pondré pantalones y todo.

Aha! this is much better, with a wee dress. She (because now it's a she) looked kind of naked without it. We called her Mechka, which in bulgarian means "female bear". And now I want to make her a boyfriend, that we'll of course name Mecho " male bear", and I will make wee pants and everything for him :-)

Este es el primero muñeco con ropa del que me siento realmente orgullosa. Tiene el tamaño perfecto, está bien cosido y es muy mono. Al principio habia pensado en un vestido más minimalista pero cuando le enseñé a Mr.R las tela me dijo que le gustaba más ésta tan colorida asi es que seguí su consejo porque algo de color siempre alegra,no? En la parte delantera he cosido un pequeño bolsillo para poner el ramito de flores. Es como un regalito que hace la osita, unas flores y un abracito; lo está pidiendo a gritos asi con los bracitos abiertos jeje ♥
This is the first softie with clothes I really feel proud of. She has the perfect size, she's well sewn and she's cute. At first I had envisaged a more minimalist dress, more like my own style, but when I showed Mr.R the fabrics he said he liked a colorful one better so we chose this one. color is good sometimes,right?. I sewed a little pocket in the front of the smock to put a tiny bouquet of flowers. I like this little detail, it's like a gift she wants to give; flowers and a hug, because that's what she wants with her arms wide open like that. ♥

Esta es la única foto que he conseguido sacar hoy decente porque está lloviendo asi que la luz hoy es malísima :-( Es una magdalena alfiletero o un heladito ahora que se acerca el verano! aunque parezca mentira hasta hace un par de días el tiempo era fantástico asi es que a ver si pasa la borrasca y sale otra vez el sol!!

Mañana por fin vuelve Mr.R de Bucarest. Lo estoy deseando porque le echo mucho de menos! Por lo menos tengo aqui conmigo a Romeo; durmiendo, haciendo yoga o haciendose el muerto...no estoy segura :-)

Mr.R is coming back from Bucharest tomorrow and I'm really looking forward to his return because I miss him very much. At least I have Romeo here with me, sleeping, doing yoga or playing dead I'm not sure.... :-)

In the corridor in front of the bathroom door (he also likes to sleep like this in the bathroom but I don't have to photographic evidence yet, by the way, not long ago he shut himself in the bathroom during the night, I guess he shut the door with his paw somehow when he turned around or something).

Back from Istanbul

Ya hemos vuelto del viaje y nos lo hemos pasado genial. Fuimos con un grupo de amigos de las embajadas inglesa, danesa y alemana. Tambien habia una pareja de búlgaros y un amigo italiano asi es que el grupo era de lo más intercultural.

Lo que más me ha sorprendido de la ciudad a parte de las magníficas mezquitas ha sido lo limpio y cuidado que tienen el centro y las infraestructuras tan modernas (metro, funicular,etc). Ir de compras al gran bazar fue divertido y no tan caótico como imaginaba, pillamos una buena hora y apenas habia gente.

El sábado los chicos jugaron un partido de fútbol contra el equipo del consulado alemán (ganamos 8-2) y luego nos fuimos a celebrarlo tomando unas cervezas y cenando en un precioso restaurante panorámico.

Y para rematar hicimos una travesia por el Bósforo en barco. Os lo recomiendo si vais a Estambul. La de la foto de arriba soy yo con la mezquita azúl de fondo.

Ahora me toca ponerme al día con vuestros blogs y preparar algunos regalos de cumple que tengo pendientes!

Hi! We're back from our trip to istanbul and we had a great time. We went with a group of friends from the british, german and danish embassies as well as a bulgarian couple and an italian friend; a very multicultural group :-)

Istanbul is huge but I liked it, the mosques are awesome and I was really surprised (and pleased) to find that they keep all the city center as clean as possible and that they have modern infrastructures (metro, funicular,etc). Going to the grand bazar was also fun. It wasn't packed and crazy as I had imagined so it made our shopping more pleasant and relaxed.

On saturday the boys played a football match against the team of the german consulate (we won 8-2) and afterwards we celebrated drinking some beers and going to a panoramic restaurant for dinner. The views of the city from this place were spectacular!

And the last day we took a boat trip around the Bosphorus, lots of fun and recommended if you go to Istanbul.

Este es el último post que puedo escribir antes de irnos de viaje a Estambul. El bolsito naranja lo hice a ganchillo con lana 100% y luego lo afieltré. La forma más rápida y cómoda es en la lavadora pero como de la que tenemos aqui no me fío mejor lo he hecho a mano. Me encanta el resultado, la lana se ha apelmazado totalmente y los puntos ya no se ven. Ha quedado tan compacto que no hace faltar forrarlo, lo único que quiero es ponerle algún adorno por fuera y todavía no sé el qué, si unos botones, una florecita.... me gustaría leer vuestras ideas :-)

This is the last post I can write before we leave for Istanbul. I crocheted the orange clutch with 100% wool and then felted it by hand. i know that the easiest and fastest way to do it is using the washing machine but I don't trust the one we have here so i had to do it by hand. it wasn't so bad. i'm very happy with how it came out, you can't even see the stitches anymore and it's so compact that it doesn't need lining. I just want to add some kind of embellishment on the outside, maybe buttons or a litlle flower...I don't know very well, I'd love to read your ideas :-)

Y hablando de lana y fieltro, me he dado cuenta de que tengo muchismos jerseys afieltrados que reciclé y que ocuparían mucho en la mudanza, (si, si, la que tenemos que hacer dentro de un par de meses porque volvemos a España!!!) asi es que he preparado unas bolsitas para la tienda con muestras de colores que van genial para hacer broches o alfileteros.

Talking of wool and felt, I have realized I have way too many felted wool sweaters that I bought at the thrift store and that I want to get rid of because in a couple of months we're moving back to Spain yay!! so I've prepared a few colorful scrap bags for the shop. These swatches are perfect for small projects such as pincushions or brooches.

Ah y no me olvido de las madalenas de chocolate. Son muy facilitas, la masa se prepara igual que para las normales pero se les añade una onza de chocolate negro que se descubre cuando les das un mordisquito :-) Si quereis la receta os la puedo poner a la vuelta del viaje.

Oh yeah and I don't forget about the cupcakes. They're very easy to make, just regular cupcakes with chocolate squares inside. I can write the recipe if anyone is interested. It's nice to bite them and find the choco surprise .-)

Volvemos dentro de unos días. Os dejo con unas fotillos de Romeo mirando por la ventana de la cocina. Todavía no sé qué miraba pero me pareció gracioso y saqué la cámara, a traición jeje luego me vió y se molestó conmigo, ay qué carácter tiene mi niño!!

Crocheted basket

Esta es la cestita que comentaba el otro dia que he hecho con yute. Es muy fácil, básicamente todo puntos bajos en espiral. El yute no es suave como la lana pero el resultado es muy bonito y ofrece infinidad de posibilidades.

This is the basket I was talking about the other day. i made it from jute and although it's not soft like wool the result is really beautiful and sturdy and the basket stands on its own perfectly. This is my own pattern, basically single crochets in the round, some worked on the front loops and other on the back ones.

Mr.R me dijo que queria empanada para cenar y aqui está justo antes de pintarla con la yema de huevo y meterla al horno. Siempre me gusta decorarla un poco y esta vez puse unos corazoncitos ♥

I made "Empanada" for dinner. Mr.R loves it and asked me to make one so here it is. I always like to decorate it, this time I put little hearts on top.

After eating grass he decided he wanted to play with a stick, he has a passion for sticks! I feel so lucky I'm able to take him to the park every day! He's a happy dog :-)

Hoy he terminado un cestito que he hecho a ganchillo usando yute (mañana o el lunes os enseño foto) y voy subiendo poco a poco fotos a mi flickr. El proceso resulta bastante tedioso y no puedo tirarme media hora cada vez que quiero subir alguna foto. Estamos todos a la vez intentadolo?? es asi para todos? y eso que nuestra conexión es muy rápida.. asi es que creo que al final pondré solo unas pocas y el resto serán fotos de Romeo y de las cosas que voy haciendo.

I finished a crocheted basket with jute (will show you the pic tomorrow or monday) and I'm slowly uploading pics to my flickr. Is it this tedius for everybody?? we have a very fast internet connection but we must be all uploading pics at the same time or something because it goes pretty slow. So in a nutshell, I can't spend half an hour everytime I want to upload pics to my flickr so I think that from now on I'll just upload a few from our travels and the rest will be of Romeo and my handmade things.

Back from Rome

Un post pequeñito hoy para deciros que ya hemos vuelto de nuestro viaje a Roma y estamos en casa con Romeo. Ha sido un viaje estupendo y nos ha gustado todo muchísimo:: nos ha dado tiempo a visitar todos los museos y monumentos que queríamos y hasta hemos visto al Papa!! además el tiempo acompañó e hizo buenísimo todos los días. En definitiva, un viaje maravilloso que nunca olvidaremos. Gracias Mr.R por hacerlo realidad y ser tan genial!! ♥

Just a quick post today to say that we're back from our trip to Rome and we're home with Romeo. It's been great and we've enjoyed everything so much!! we had time to visit all the museums and monuments we wanted to see and we even saw the Pope in person!! Also the weather was awesome too, very sunny all the days. Definitely a wonderful trip we'll never forget. Thanks Mr.R for making it true and for being so great!! ♥

Nos vamos de viaje y sólo me asomo un momentín para enseñaros el último bolso en lino y algodón que he terminado y hablaros de la gran labor humanitaria que está llevando a cabo Kelli de AfricanKelli reuniendo bolsitas de "buena voluntad" con productos de primera necesidad como jabón para los niños de orfanatos de Mozambique y de Sudamérica. Podeis leerlo aqui en inglés. El plazo para las bolsitas de Mozambique ya está cerrado pero os podeis apuntar para el de Sudamérica.

We're going to Rome for a few days and I'm just popping up to show you the last tote I've finished using linen and cotton, and also tell you about the great Kelli from AfricanKelli. She's going to Mozambique and to South America to work in orphanages in the summer and she wants to hand the kids a bag of goodies. You can read about it here. The deadline for Mozambique is closed but you can send your "goodwill bag" for kids in South America.

También me ha dado tiempo a hacer un monedero a ganchillo que he decorado con una cinta en terciopelo rosa y una florecita. Es sólo un experimento, me apetecía combinar varios materiales y ver cómo quedaban juntos. Creo que mi próximo proyecto en ganchillo será un amigurumi, llevo ya días dándole vueltas a la idea y me apetece hacer un osito o algún otro animalito por el estilo, ya veré..

I also had time to crochet a little pouch. I added some pink velvet ribbon and a crocheted flower. It's just an experiment, I wanted to combine different types of yarn and some ribbon I purchased recently. I think my next crochet project will be an amigurumi, maybe a little bear or some sort of cute wee animal. we'll see...

Ayer por fin me llegó el pedido (ha tardado casi un mes..) y ya tengo dos nuevos libros sobre costura y crafts. El primero es el libro de costura de Lotta Jansdotter "Simple sewing" que es una maravilla. Tiene 24 projectos con patrones, fotos e ilustraciones de la propia autora. Siendo una fan como soy del diseño escandinavo me agrada ver que el diseño y los proyectos soy sencillos y manejables. Lo difícil ahora va a ser decidir por dónde empezar!!!

Yesterday my new books finally arrived (I'd be waiting a month..) I got Lotta Jansdotter's "Simple sewing" and "The crafter's companion". They are two wonderful books that you can't miss if you love sewing and crafts. I love scandinavian design and I was pleased to see that Lotta's book is packed with nice and simple projects. Now the hard thing will be chosing where to start!!

Del segundo libro, "The crafter's companion" me gusta sobre todo que habla de las creadoras. Antes de presentar su creación, cada una de ellas responde a una pequeña entrevista con preguntas como ¿por qué creas cosas?, ¿de dónde sacas la inspiración?, ¿cómo es tu estudio/espacio de trabajo? A muchas de ellas las descubrí a través de sus blogs, pero hay detalles que cuenta el libro que me han parecido muy interesantes y que han hecho que no me sienta distinta a ellas. Imagino la ilusión que debió hacerles el día en que la editora las contactó para participar en este proyecto y creo que han conseguido hacer un libro muy bonito y lleno de inspiración.

From "The crafter's companion" I especially like that it talks about all the talented crafters that make up this book. Each one of them provides a beautiful project and also replies to a few questions like; why do you create?, what inspires you?, what does your studio look like?. I visit most of these ladies' blogs often and I liked knowing a bit more about them. I also like the fact that reading this book has made me realize that I'm not so different from them. I can imagine the happiness they felt when the editor contacted them and I hope they feel very proud of such a beautiful and inspirational book.

Voilà! Olivia terminada!! Me gusta mucho cómo ha quedado y creo que tiene el tamaño perfecto. La base es cuadrada y como lleva entretela para no perder la forma se sostiene en pie solita.

Voilà here is Olivia!! I finished this cute cosmetic pouch and I'm very pleased with how it came out, I think she has the perfect size. She's interfaced for stability and the base is square so she can stand on her own.

La tela del interior me la regaló mi madre, pertenecía a su propia colección de telas y el invierno pasado me la dió para que hiciera algo "bonito" con ella. La tela es de hace muchos años y no sé ni dónde la compró pero está como nueva y no he dudado en utilizarla para este neceser porque queda muy chula. He cosido seis bolsillos dentro del neceser para que resulte más fácil guardar todos los potinguillos dentro y que cada uno esté en su sitio.

The lining is a fabric featuring little sailing boats that my mom gave me. This fabric was part of her own stash and she decided to give it to me last winter to make something "cute". She had it for many years, I'm not sure where she bought it but it looks like brand new and I didn't hesitate to use it for this pouch as it looks so gorgeous. I sewed six pockets inside to keep all the stuff in place and organized.

Bueno y Romeo mientras tanto en su linea de echarse siestas en posturas raras y que parecen poco cómodas...

En respuesta a los que habeis preguntado si Romeo viene al viaje;
No va a poder venir con nosotros a Roma y en principio le ibamos a dejar con una amiga que tiene una chow-chow, pero como la perrita se ha puesto con el celo pues al final no va a poder ser y ya hemos reservado plaza en la guardería perruna. Me preocupé muchísimo cuando hicimos el primer viaje a Madrid con él en navidades y ya empiezo a notar la misma preocupación acechándome....me preocupa que no le traten bien y que esté triste y piense que le hemos abandonado... estos días prepararé su maleta perruna con mucho mimo. Aqui podeis ver la que preparó Teresa para Blanco. La de Romeo será parecida pero en vez de paté mejor le pongo sus juguetes porque con lo delicado que está del estómago.... (él prefiere el paté claro .....sin comentarios)

For those who asked if we're taking Romeo with us to Rome; nope, he can't come with us this time. He was going to stay with a friend that has a chow-chow but the bitch is in heat so we can't leave Romeo there and we have booked a spot at the kennel instead. I got very worried when we took him with us to Spain for Christmas and now I'm starting to feel the same way... I'm worried :: hope they treat him kindly and that he won't get sad and think that we've abandoned him... gosh!.. This week I'll prepare his suitcase with care. Here you can see the one Teresa prepared for Blanco. Romeo's will be similar but instead of the pâté I'll include one his toys...(of course he prefers the pâté...no comments)

Magasin nº10

Este es el escaparate de una tienda en el centro que se llama Magasin nº10 (lo pone en búlgaro en un cartelito que se puede ver colgado abajo a la dcha de la foto). La primera vez que lo vi me quedé con la boca abierta porque es magnífico! está lleno de detalles y muñequitos que me temo no se ven bien en la foto a menos que no hagas click y la agrandes (fíjate en las botas en el balcón, la guirnalda de luces de colores, el perrito, la muñeca en la bañera, la pasteleria...)

This is the window of a shop downtown Sofia called Magasin nº10 (it's written in bulgarian in a sign on the bottom right of the pic). The first time I saw it I was in awe because it's simply fantastic!!! I lik how it depicts the store and the building with all the little details and dolls I'm afraid you can't see very well in the picture unless you click and enlarge it (check out the boots in the balcony, the garland with color lights, the doggy, the doll in the tub, the cak e shop...)

en cuanto a manualidades me estoy haciendo un nuevo neceser para el viaje que espero poder enseñaros pronto. También he ordenado alfabéticamente la lista de mis blogs favoritos y he puesto el link para los que querais suscribiros al mío via blogarithm (está ahí arriba a la dcha -->) es muy útil si visitas un blog asiduamente porque te informa de las actualizaciones via email.

Ayer salí en busca de una nueva lámpara pero no encontré ninguna que me gustara. De vuelta a casa entré en Mango para ver la nueva colección... Me gustaron muchos los vestidos tan femeninos y vaporosos como el de la foto.

Yesterday I went shopping for a new lamp but didn't find any I really liked. One the way back I checked all the beautiful dresses of the new spring-summer collection at Mango. The one of the pic below is really cute in person!!

Ultimamente nos está dando por desayunar tostadas de mantequilla de cacahuete con mermelada de arándanos :: algo muy yanqui pero muy rico y energético también jeje

Lately we're enjoying peanut butter and jelly toasts for breakfast :: yummy!! (for those who have never been to Spain I have to say that peanut butter is not popular there, actually most people have never tried it!)

Os acordais que el otro dia hablaba sobre la competición de los huevos duros más duros?? pues he aqui el ganador!! (lo siento Mr R pero es mío!!)

¿Qué pasa cuando Romeo come arroz? pues que se le puede quedar un granito de arroz pegado a la trufita jeje Romeo vuelve a estar malito de la tripa (de ahi la dieta especial de arroz) y mañana por la mañana lo primero que toca es llevarle al veterinario. La verdad es que empezamos a estar un poco desesperados porque tiene un estómago muy delicado y ya no sabemos que hacer. El veterinario se limita a decir que es gastroenteritis crónica y no nos aporta ninguna solución que funcione...

What happens when Romeo eats rice? well, he can end up with a little grain on his snout heh heh... He has stomachache again (that's why he's on a special rice diet again) and tomorrow morning the first thing I'll do is take him to the vet. The truth is that we're upset and worried because he has a very delicate stomach and the vet says he has chronic gastroenteritis and doesn't give us any solution...

Este finde he estado pensando en los preparativos para el viaje a Roma y como siempre llevo un cuadernillo en el bolso para apuntar cosas pues me he hecho esta funda tan bonita para estrenar en el viaje. Estoy contenta con el resultado y haré más para la tienda.

This weekend I've been thinking about all the preparations for our trip to Rome and I made myself a new notebook cover. I always carry a small notebook in my purse to write down ideas and I thought I'd be nice to have a new one to use in Rome. I'm very pleased with the way it came out so I'll be making more for the shop.

También he hecho este "basket" con una tela nueva que me acaba de llegar. No sabía muy bien que uso darle pero creo que servirá muy bien para las labores. La de la imagen es la famosa manta que no puedo acabar porque la tienda ya no vende más esa lana..

And I also had time to make this "basket" with a new fabric I just received. I wanted to make one and I think it's good to have the WIP to hand. The knitting in the picture is the blanket I can't finish because the yarn store here doesn't sell it anymore...

Y mirando la tela me di cuenta de que me recordaba algo y voilà! tengo una cajita para guardar las tarjetas que se parece muchisimo a la tela no creeis??

And looking at the fabric I realized that it reminded me of something...et voilà! I happen to have a little box where I keep my business cards and it looks very much the same don't you think??

Creo que no habia enseñado mi fundita de cuaderno, en persona se ven todos los detalles mejor. Está acolchada y lleva tres tipos de tela y una flor de ganchillo. La tela del panel superior son florecitas verdes y la tela del inferior rayitas. Poner la foto hoy me ha recordado que tengo que hacer más para la tienda.

I think I hadn't showed a pic of my journal cover. You can see all the details in person better. It's padded and has three kinds of fabrics and a crocheted flower. You can't see it well in the pic but the upper fabric is green flowers and the bottom one is green lines. Very cute, I love it!! showing the pic today reminds me that I need to make more for the shop update.

Yesterday I received my package from Virginie in France and I love everything she sent me like the last issue of Marie Claire Idées, some fabric, ribbon, and lots of tea!!! yay!! I love tea and couldn't be happier!!! merci!

Haciendo más coquettes el otro día se me ocurrió que podía intentar crear un bollito o madalena y este ha sido el resultado. Tiene tamaño real y va bien como alfiletero. Me parece tan mona que haré más en varios colores. Si os interesa puedo intentar escribir el patrón.

I was crocheting more coquettes the other day and I thought I could try to make a little cake or cupcake so this is what I came up with, a cute strawberry cupcake. It has the size of a real cupcake and works perfect as a pincushion. I plan to make more in several colors and I can try to write down the pattern if you're interested in making one too.

MCI es una revista que me encanta, está hecha con un gusto exquisito y las fotos son siempre preciosas. Este número es muy variado y colorido, aqui pongo algunas fotos que me han gustado especialmente.

I love MCI, it's packed with ideas and the pictures are always awesome. I find this issue very inspirational and colorful and wanted to share two of my favorite pics.

También ha sido interesante leer el artículo sobre yogures. La calidad de los yogures en Europa del Este es excelente, doy fe de ello y me ha hecho gracia ver la foto del yogur "Rila" (Rila es un monasterio ortodoxo muy bonito a un par de horas en coche de Sofia).

It has also been interesting to read the article about yogurt. The quality of yogurt in Eastern European countries is excellent and I liked seeing the pic of one called "Rila" (like the beautiful orthodox monastery called Rila located two-hour drive away from Sofia).

Y para rematar la revista también incluye un artículo titulado "Que viva andalucía", asi es que ahi está un cachito de España también!! olé!!

Tengo que reconocer que estoy enganchada a las fotos de Romeo durmiendo. No puedo evitarlo, me produce ternura (y risa) verle dormir en esta postura tan curiosa!! No os pasa? Mañana prometo dejaros descansar y mostrar fotos no perrunas...

I have to admit I'm hooked on pics of Romeo sleeping. He's so cute I can't help it. Seeing him sleeping like this makes me feel very tender (and cracks me up too). Don't you?

Ya terminó la Semana Santa, se acabaron las fiestas y los familiares de Mr.R que habian venido de visita han vuelto a España. Hoy es el primer día de vuelta a la normalidad y hay muchas cosas que hacer. Verito habla en su blog sobre las celebraciones en Suecia y me ha sorprendido ver que aunque alli la religion mayoritaria es la luterana (aqui es la ortodoxa) hay tradiciones comunes como decorar huevos duros de colores y competir por el huevo duro más duro valga la redundancia... Nada tiene que ver la Semana Santa española con la búlgara...lo más destacado es que el sábado a las doce de la noche la gente se acerca a la iglesia más cercana o a la catedral y vela en mano (encendida si el viento y la aglomeración no lo impiden) proceden a dar tres vueltas al templo. Huelga decir que ese día la venta de velas se dispara. Asi puesto suena muy bonito pero la realidad es bien distinta porque la gente se pone nerviosa y empuja, asi es que si no quieres correr el riesgo de que te pongan perdida de cera o te quemen el pelo es mejor quedarse en casa calentito y ver el "acontecimiento" por la tele.

Easter is over and the family of Mr.R that came to visit have gone back to Spain. So today is our first day of "back to normal life" and I have tons of things to do. In her blog Verito talks about Passover in Sweden and although the main religion here is orthodox I see there are similar traditions like coloring boiled eggs and competing for the hardest boiled egg (this is basically crashing eggs and see who is left with an unbroken egg)...Nothing to do with how it's celebrated in Spain.. The main event here happens on saturday night at 12 am when people light candles and walk to the nearest church or the cathedral and go around it three times. this day the sale of candles goes crazy... and the whole thing goes crazy too because people get a bit nervous and start pushing around so it gets a bit dangerous with so many lit candles. In the end it seems more sensible to stay home and watch the whole thing on tv and don't take the risk of getting wax all over your clothes or even get your hair burned! auchh!

Que bonita se ve la Fontana di Trevi y todavía no me puedo creer que dentro de dos semanas vaya a verla en persona!! si,si, nos vamos de viaje y me encantaría leer vuestras recomendaciones asi es que hago un llamamiento a todos los que hayais visitado Roma!
Y por último comentaros que mi proyecto de manta se truncó porque fui a la tienda a por más ovillos y me dijeron que ya no quedaban. La tenía muy avanzada y ahora tengo que deshacerlo todo... Después del verano, cuando hayamos vuelto a Madrid estoy considerando seriamente la posibilidad de unirme a la idea de Malglam y pedir cuadraditos para unirlos y hacer una manta.

I also wanted to tell you that I can't finish the blanket I started last month because the store doesn't sell the yarn I was using anymore. It was so beautiful I can't believe it!! damn it! So I'm really considering Malglam's idea once we're back in Spain after the summer of asking people who want to contribute to send me little knitted squares and sew them together to make a blanket.

Mr.R se tumba en el sofá a ver la tele un rato y Romeo sale corriendo para tumbarse a su lado en el suelo y pedir mimos. Es como un bebé al que si dejas de acunar llora. Ya le he dicho a Mr.R que le tiene mal acostumbrado pero es que le pone caritas y asi no hay quien se resista claro.. y se queda frito con las patitas en alto y todo.. uy para comérselo!!! asi con esa cara de bueno quién diría que odia que le saquen fotos cuando está despierto??!! corre, corre, saca la cámara que está sopa y ahora es un buen momento...tu te crees??...

Mr.R decides to watch tv on the couch for a while and Romeo runs to lie down by his side on the floor and starts begging for belly rubs. It's like a baby that you put on the crib after holding it in your arms and starts crying. I've told Mr.R a million times that he's (Romeo) getting used to it. He says that he's cute and that how can he resist...I know... he just wants belly rubs and then he crashes..with his legs up in the air!! how cute is that??!! seeing him sleeping like that who would guess that he hates pictures??!! hurry, hurry, get the camera out, now it's the time to catch him off guard ...

El finde pasado fuimos a ver la exposición de diseño escandinavo que alberga la National Gallery for Foreign Art y aqui os pongo unas cuantas fotos tal y como prometí.

Last weekend we went to see the scandinavian design exhibit at the Nationl Gallery for Foreign Art. We enjoyed it alot! here are a few pics as promised.

y esto para recostarse a ras del suelo? tiene una forma muy ergonómica y apuesto a que es comodísimo!! una pena que la luz en el recinto no fuera muy buena para sacar fotos porque el color original es verde pistacho bastante chillón y en la foto no se aprecia bien.

and this to lie back? it has a very ergonomic shape and I bet it's super comfy!! too bad the light was very dim and you can't really appreciate its true color; bright pistachio, wow!!

Time to hang our martenitsi

El 1 de marzo hablaba de una fiesta que se celebra aqui que se llama Chestita Baba Marta (si te perdiste el post puedes volver a leerlo aqui). La tradición dice que hay que colgar las pulseritas(martenitsi) de un árbol cuando empieza a florecer o cuando se ve una cigüeña. La mayoría nos guiamos por la floración porque cigüeñas lo que se dice cigüeñas por aqui no se ven.. Asi es que el domingo salimos a colgar nuestras martenitsi.

The 1st of march I talked about a holiday typical from here called Chestita Baba Marta ( if you missed it you can read the post again here). Tradition says that you have to hang your bracelet (martenitsi) from a tree in blossom or when you see a stork. Most people chose the tree in blossom because you can't really see storks in the city... So sunday we went to hang our martenitsi.

Está bastante cerca de casa y como podeis apreciar está plagado de martenitsi.
The tree is pretty close to home and as you can see there are tons of martenitsi hanging from it.

Empezamos colgando las de Romeo y luego Mr R y yo colgamos las nuestras a la vez que pediamos un deseo.
We started hanging Romeo's and then Mr.R and I hung ours as we made a wish.

Parece que seguimos con el azúl ♥ Mr R dijo que ha quedado bonito asi es que lo he puesto en adopción. Un día de estos enseño el que yo uso que lleva una florecita de crochet, lo adoro! El de la foto también lleva una florecita pero me apetecía dejar el ganchillo un rato asi es que ésta va pintada con pintura para tela. Dentro también lleva unas florecitas en el bolsillo interior que sirve para guardar el boli o los lápices.

Seems I continue to make blue things ♥ Mr.R said it looks very pretty so it's available for adoption. One of these days I'll show you the one I use that has a cute crochet flower in the front, I love it! the one in the picture also has a flower but I felt like drawing and not crocheting it so i used textile paint. The interior pocket also has two little flowers and it's very useful to hold your pen or pencils.

Al recién llegado kit de serigrafía tengo ganas de meterle mano, pero me da un respeto...y más todavía después de leer posts como éste de inside a black apple. En serio es tan difícil?? no espero que la primera vez salga perfecto pero desde luego que la chica desanima bastante poniendolo tan chungo. No quiero convertirme en la peor serigrafista del mundo. Tenía pensado pedirle ayuda a Mr.R que es muy metódico. Si hubiera algún curso por estos lares ya me habría apuntado, pero nada de nada... espero que toda la info que llevo recabando durante meses y las ganas suplan la falta de experiencia.

I'm really looking forward to starting to print with my new silkscreen kit but I have to admit that I'm a bit scared, especially after reading posts like this one from inside a black apple. Is it really that hard?? i don't expect it to be perfect the first time but she really puts it as it's terribly hard to get it right. i don't want to become the worst silkscreen printer in the world. I thought about asking Mr R for help because he's very methodical. I'd take silkscreening classes if there were any here but nada.... I hope all the info I've been gathering for months and my enthusiasm make up for the lack of experience.

Asi se llama el kit de serigrafía de Speedball que me regaló Mr.R y que ha llegado hoy a casa. Romeo sentía mucha curiosidad y olisqueó la caja durante un buen rato...

That's the name of the silkscreen kit that Mr.R bought me a while ago and that arrived today all the way from Chicago. romeo was very curious about it and kept sniffing at the package for a long time...

He terminado un bolsito como los que yo hago pero en tamaño mini. Es un encargo para regalar a una niña y espero que le haga mucha ilusión. Lleva forro de rositas por dentro con un bolsillo para que meta sus cositas y he completado el set con un par de pulseras de lo más fashion. Tengo entendido que la niña es muy coqueta.

I finished this wee tote for a little girl. It's a custom order and I hope she likes it. The wee tote is lined with a fabric printed with roses and has an interior pocket. I completed the set with a pair of bracelets made from colorful beads. I heard she cares about her looks very much.

I hate coming up with a "title"...

Vi que quedaban solo un par de panettones en la tienda, uyyy que rico!! y encima el dibujo de la caja es genial asi es ni me lo pensé, al carro!!. A Romeo también le ha gustado porque la posé un momento encima de una de las sillas de la cocina y no paró de olisquearla moviendo el rabito ♥

There were just a few panettones left in the store. We love them and when I saw the design with the lab puppies I knew it had to be mine! I think that Romeo also liked it and was sniffing around wagging his tail ♥

Wednesday I'm in love

Eso es lo que le pasa a Macareno, que bebe los vientos por esta pajarita. He vuelto de correos de mandar un paquete lleno de mis cositas al otro lado del atlántico y le he sacado una foto a los "enamoraos" para que veais que monos están asi juntitos. También he tenido que llevar a Romeo al vete porque está malito de tripa y algo enfadado también porque no le "podemos" dar su comida hasta mañana. Bueno en realidad está muy mosqueado y se hace el ofendido.

That's what Macareno says, he's head over heels in love with her. Look at this pair of lovebirds, aren't they cute?? I came back from the post office from sending a package full of my goodies to CA and took a pic of them so you could see them together. I also had to take Romeo to the vet due to loose poop and stomachache and he said (the vet :-) ) that he can't eat until tomorrow morning. That was very bad news for Romeo because he LOVES to eat so now he's mad at us for not feeding him dinner.

Y he terminado unos cuantos saquitos de lavanda como estos en lino para poner dentro de los cajones. Miden unos 7cms y huelen de maravilla!! y además la lavanda que llevan dentro es de cultivo biológico :-)

I had time to whip up a few lavender sachets. I had this beautiful linen I wanted to use and I found organic lavender the other day so it clicked! they're 3"x3" and smell wonderful!!! ♥

Blue week

Parece que esta semana el color predominante es el azúl. Hace días terminé otro Forest Tote, esta vez en azúl, y por fin pude sacarle una foto para enseñaroslo. Dentro de unos dias se irá a Francia con su nueva dueña.

Looks like blue is the main color this week. I finished another Forest Tote, this one in blue, and I was finally able to take a picture to show it to you. It'll be traveling to France in a few days to meet his new owner.

Por fin me he decidido por una lana para la mantita nueva. Es gordita y calentita asi es que creo que quedará una manta bien mullidita y gustosa al tacto. Me gusta como van quedando los colores a medida que la voy tejiendo, el turquesa es mi favorito.

I finally chose a nice and bulky yarn for my new blankie. The pic is a close-up and I think that the colors look nice. I like the turquoise a lot.

Y este pajarito es Macareno, no sé si realmente existe ese nombre pero me pareció gracioso y asi
es como se llama. Está realizado en franela y cashmir por lo que es muy suavecito. Tiene un corazoncito dibujado en el pecho porque está enamorado. De quien? de una pajarita muy coqueta que no le hace mucho caso... mañana si hay buena luz os la presento.

This adorable birdie is Macareno. He's made from flannel and cashmir and he's very soft and huggable. He has a little heart drawn on his chest because he's in love. With who? well with a cute birdie that loves to go shopping and doesn't care much about him... hope it doesn't rain tomorrow and that she can pose for a nice pic.

A Spoonful of Chocolate

Esta es la tarjeta tan bonita que me mandó Margy junto con el muñequito y otras delicatessen como el palito con chocolate que se ve en la foto. Mandó dos y los preparamos para merendar. Hmmm estaba buenísimo!! ♥
De la manta no hay foto porque la deshice, no me gustaba como estaba quedando y no iba a seguir con una labor que no me place asi es que esta noche empezaré otra y enseñaré fotos más adelante. Estoy pensando en rayitas de colores o algo por el estilo. Necesito algo sencillo para poder hacer por las noches en plan relajante sin necesidad de tener que estar memorizando numeros y contando puntos constantemente. A veces eso me resulta aburrido y agotador...

This is the cute card that margy sent together with the wee bear and some other delicatessen like the chocolate stick you can see in the pic. She sent two and they were sooo good!! ♥
As for the blanket I started there's no picture because I undid it. I didn't like how it was coming out so I wasn't going to continue it. I'll probably start a new one tonight. I'm thinking about stripes instead of ripples. I want something easy to relax at night. I don't want to have to count and memorize stitches all the time. Sometimes that's boring and tiring...

Estas fotos de Romeo saltando las he sacado esta mañana en el cole. Ya salta 4 listones!! La primera foto es mi preferida, está taaaan gracioso!! ♥ si amplias la foto verás que serio está y cómo se le curvan las orejas al saltar, parece que está suspendido en el aire con las patitas encogidas! En la segunda foto se ve como está mirando la recompensa que tiene Mr.R en la mano para él. Sabe perfectamente que si salta bien recibirá un trocito de su golosina favorita asi es que se aplica como el que más y saca muy buenas notas :-)

I took these pics of Romeo jumping this morning. He jumps 4 bars already!! the first pic is my favorite, he looks soooo funny! It's hilarious!! If you zoom it you can see how serious he looks and how his ears get all curved and it seems that he's suspended in the air with his legs bent!. In the second pic he's looking at the treat that Mr.R has in his right hand. He knows that if he does well he will receive a yummy treat so he jumps hop hop hop!!! ♥

I have several softies that I¡ve handmade from fabric and felt sitting in the windowsill in our bedroom. They look so cute there! We call them "the happy family". Yesterday I received this cute wee bear from Margy in Belgium as part of our swap. Now she's very happy with her new family and enjoying the views from the windowsill ♥

Getting ready for the spring

Recién saliditas del horno y para la tienda, son las Coquettes. Alegres broches de colores hechos a ganchillo con un botoncito vintage e imperdible en la parte de atrás.

I just finished a bunch of these crocheted pins for my etsy shop. I call them Coquettes because they're cute and stylish at the same time. Each one of them has a vintage button on top and a pin in the back.

Y este es un bolsito que he hecho para un intercambio con Margy. Os lo puedo enseñar porque ya lo ha recibido y le ha gustado mucho. Está realizado en pana rosa y lleva aplique de arbolito en fieltro. La última foto muestra el interior, utilizé un satén rosa con dibujo de perritosy corazones ♥

Now I can show you this is a purse I made for Margy as part of our swap because she already recieved it and she liked it very much. It's made from pink corduroy and features a felt appliqué of a little tree. The last pic shows the interior, a pink saten with poochies and hearts &hearst;

Chestita Baba Marta!!!

El día 1 de marzo es una fecha muy especial en Bulgaria porque se celebra "Chestita Baba Marta" (literalmente "feliz abuela marta"). Si quieres leer de qué se trata pincha aqui.
Es un día divertido porque intercambiamos pins y pulseras (que se llaman martenitsa) con familiares y amigos y todo el mundo se saluda diciendo "Chestita Baba Marta" y se desea salud y prosperidad. Los perritos y gatos también están incluidos asi es que aqui está romeo sonriendo y posando con su martenitsa.

The 1st of March is a very important day in Bulgaria because we celebrate "Chestita Baba Marta" (literally "happy grandma marta"). If you want to know what's all about click here.
It's a fun day in which we exchange pins and bracelets (called martenitsa) with friends and relatives and everybody wishes each other health and prosperity and salute saying "Chestita baba Marta". Even dogs and cats are included in this so here is Romeo smiling and posing with his martenitsa.

Me hace feliz :: mi bote japonés, especial para guardar el té y que conserve el aroma y sus cualidades durante mucho tiempo porque tiene doble tapa, qué gran invento!! se acabó atar los paquetes con cuerdecitas o pinzas, que por otro lado me permitiréis decir que quedaba horrible!! Además de práctico, este pequeño bote que puede albergar hasta 100grs de té, está forrado con un papel japonés precioso. Fui a la tienda donde los venden con mi madre y tardé un rato en decidirme por este modelo porque tenían otros dos igualmente bonitos.

Makes me happy :: my japanese tea can. It's great! it keeps all the flavor and taste of the tea longer because it features two lids. I don't have to tie the sachets with knots or use a clothes pin or peg to close them. I personally hate that, I think it looks bad!
On top of being practical it's also really cute, it can keep up to 100grs of tea and it's covered with a print of a japanese landscape. I went to the store where they sell these with my mom and it took me a while to pick this one because they had two more with different prints on them and they were beautiful as well.

También me hace feliz: este papel de gnomos de Ikea que sobró de envolver regalos y he utilizado para forrar una cajita y mi último cuaderno de ideas y borradores.

It also makes me happy: this gnome wrapping paper from Ikea that we used last Christmas to wrap gifts. I had some left and used it for the little box and my last sketchbook.

Gifts for me

Esta semana Mr R. tuvo que irse de viaje de trabajo a Bucarest y cuando volvió a casa lo hizo con este precioso bonsai bajo el brazo. Me gusta muchísimo y lo hemos bautizado como Mr Hiro. Lo chungo es que no tengo ni idea de cómo se cuida un bonsai asi es que tendré que encontrar algo de información por internet porque no quiero que le pase como a otras plantitas que teníamos que cada día las veía peor y ni las vitaminas fueron capaz de salvarlas. Mr Hiro tiene que hacer el viaje de vuelta a España con nosotros, sea como sea!!

This week Mr R. had to go to Bucharest on a business trip and when he came back he did it with this bonsai. I like it very much and we've called it Mr Hiro. What worries me is that I don't know anything about bonsais so I'll have to surf the internet for info. The last couple of plants we had didn't live long. I don't know what was wrong with them but they kept looking worse every day that passed until one day they finally died, not even the vitamins could save them. Mr Hiro has to make it back to Spain with us this summer, no matter what!

Y este es un estuche enrollable para las agujas de ganchillo que me he hecho. Estoy muy contenta porque me ha quedado como queria. Puede que me fabrique otro para los lápices de acuarela, pero sólo para algunos porque me gusta tenerlos a mano en un bote encima de la mesa.

And this is the roll-up crochet hook case that I made for myself. I needed a new one very bad and I'm very happy with it. It came out just the way I had envisaged. Maybe I'll make one for my watercolor pencils, although not for all of them because I like to have some of them handy on my studio table.

Le he puesto relleno para que esté todo blandito y una solapa para que los proteja bien cuando viaje y los lleve en el bolso o en la maleta.

I padded it for extra cuteness and it also has a flap to protect the hooks when I have to travel and put them inside my tote or my suitcase.

También dejé el último espacio más ancho para poder meter una cinta métrica o unas tijeritas pequeñas que siempre viene bien tenerlas a mano.

I made the last slot bigger to put a measuring tape or a pair of scissors, it's always good to have them handy.

Orange pouch on a sunny day

El titulo del post viene a cuento porque hoy ha hecho un dia espectacular! muy luminoso, soleado y caluroso!! si, ya se que estamos de camino a Siberia jeje pero esto ya no es lo que era y menos este invierno que está resultando ser el más cálido desde hace no sé cuantísimos años.
Las fotos de hoy muestran el detalle del estuche naranja que mencionaba en el otro post. Tiene un bordado de una mariposa y unas ondas en varios colores. Creo que ahora si se ven bien. Por detrás también tiene ondas porque cuando lo hice pensé que era una pena que sólo tuviera cositas por un lado y asi queda más completito e igual de bonito por un lado que por otro ♥

The title is because today was an incredibly sunny day here! very bright and warm too! usually it's very cold in Bulgaria during the winter you know but not this year. Last year we were covered in snow and now what a difference!!
the pics bellow feature the detail of the orange pouch I was talking about in my other post. The back osf the pouch is also embroidered because when I was sewing it I thought that it would be cuter and I also wanted the back to look as nice as the front. So this pouch is covered with cuteness all over ♥

Los estuches/neceseres de la foto de abajo con bordado y apliques de circulitos amarillos son de una línea que estoy haciendo que he bautizado como "follow the leader". Están quedando muy graciosos y el nombre se me ocurrió cuando estaba cosiendo los circulos, van de mayor a menor o si lo prefieres de menor a mayor jeje y parecen que se están siguiendo unos a otros, de ahí el nombre :-)

The pouches from the pic bellow have a machine embroidery and feature appliqués of yellow felt circles. They belong to the line I've named "follow the leader". I think they're cute and funny. I came up with the name when I was sewing the circles, they go from big to small or from small to big, whatever you prefer and it looks as though they're following each other. I thought it was really cute :-)

El de color naranja es uno de mis favoritos. Es más alargado que los demás y lleva bordado una mariposa y unas ondas por delante y por detrás. Pondré alguna foto más para que podais ver el detalle. Todos llevan entretela para que guarden la forma y van forrados por dentro.

I think that the orange pouch is my favorite. It's longer that the other pouches, maybe I designed it thinking about a pencil case. It features a machine embroidered butterfly and waves both in the front and the back. I will post more pics of these soon so you can see what I mean. All the pouches are lined and interfaced for stability.

Dentro de unos días estrenamos la web de Mi Lado Creativo y el haber tenido que centrarme tanto en ello me ha hecho pensar más en el blog y lo que me gustaría mejorar. No ando sobrada de tiempo y normalmente me siento a escribir por las noches o a primera hora de la mañana, a veces no he podido descargar las fotos y tengo que esperar, pero aún así siempre tengo que andar mirando el reloj y pensando en lo siguiente que tengo que hacer con lo cual no termino de centrarme y asi no hay quien escriba un buen post.

Ultimamente me han dicho que tengo buenos links en el blog, gracias. No tengo tiempo para poder visitar todos mis favoritos a diario, pero lo intento y cuando lo hago me lo paso pipa porque gusta mucho ver qué es lo que hace la gente y en qué piensan. A veces lees un post de alguien y conectas con el tema o te hace reir o simplemente te gusta mucho cómo está redactado. Esos son los ingredientes que hacen que un blog enganche y por consiguiente tenga muchisimas visitas.
Una de las cuestiones que me planteé al principio era dónde estaba el límite entre compartir hobbies y pasiones y lo que quieres llegar a compartir de tu vida personal con millones de desconocidos.
Me gusta mucho esta idea que ha tenido Verónica y puede que me anime. Ahora estoy muy ocupada con la tienda, la web, los samplers y sacando fotos para algo muy especial que espero poder contaros dentro de poco. A todo eso hay que sumarle que estoy llevando a Romeo al cole con lo cual me queda poco tiempo para otras cosas pero ahi voy, poquito a poco... y con mucha ilusión.

Deseo dentro de poco poder tener algo más de tiempo para sentarme tranquilamente y escribir mis posts sin tener que estar mirando el reloj mientras le doy sorbitos a mi roiboos favorito.

Me encanta que la gente entre y deje un comentario, aunque sea sólo para decir hola. Si lees esto y nunca me has dicho nada ahora es un buen momento :-)

Lately I've been thinking about the blog and how I want to approah it. We're launching the website of Mi lado Creativo soon and preparing it has given me the chance to think about the blog as well. It's not that I'm not happy with it, quite the opposite, but I think that there are some things that can be improved. Sometimes I have alot of ideas in my head and want to talk about a million things but I sit down and can't find the way to clearly convey all those thoughts. It's feels pretty frustrating. I know that time has a lot to do with it. You can't expect to write a good post when you're in hurry. Lately I've been feeling like I have tons and tons of things to do and little time to accomplish them. I have my priorities but still, days seem short and I find myself wishing I've had more time to do this or that. Even something like reading my favorite blogs, I usually have to do it at night or early in the mornings. By the way, I love comments and feedback and I'd really love you to leave a comment or just say Hi if you want or if you have never commented on my blog before. Now it's a good time :-)

In short, I want to finish the web design, the samplers, the pics I'm taking for something special I hope I can talk about it to you soon and take care of a few household chores so I feel less in a hurry eveytime I sit in front of the notebook and I can write my posts slowly while I take sips of my favorite roiboos tea.

Corduroy wristlets and tote bag

Otra vista de las "wristlets" y un bolso nuevo, también realizado en pana y aplicación de arbolito con hojas de colores en fieltro. El bolso es de tamaño mediano y se puede colgar del hombro. Además se cierra con un clip automático y lleva un bolsillo interior.
Cambiando de tema, si el tiempo lo permite (ahora mismo está diluviando) esta tarde Romeo empieza el cole. Recuerdas esta mala noticia? Ahora hay una buena que nos ha alegrado; Desi, la chica a la que hace unas semanas se le murió su perro en el parque (Cherami) tiene un nuevo cachorrito de Golden retriever al que ha llamado Goldie. Ningún perro sustituye a otro pero si que es verdad que ayudan a superar su pérdida. Los cachorritos están tan llenos de vida y alegría que es contagioso!! ♥

Changing the subject, if the weather gets better (it's raining cats and dogs right now) Romeo will start school this afternoon. Do you remember this bad news? Now there's good news, Desi, the girl whose dog (Cherami) died in the park a few weeks ago has a new golden retriever puppy called Goldie. He won't substitute Cherami but I'm sure that he will help her overcome her loss. Puppies are so full of life and joy!! it's contagious ♥

Ayer terminé este nuevo collar de tres colores con cuentas y bolas de fieltro para la tienda. Es alegre y divertido además de muy combinable.

Yesterday I finished this necklace for my shop. I made it with beads in three colors and felt balls. It's really nice and perfect to wear with jeans and a cool t-shirt.

El sol produce un juego de luz curioso y parece que una de las cuentas tiene las rayas amarillas!
The sun plays a trick and it looks as though one of the beads has yellow stripes!

Hoy vuelve Mr.R y estamos como locos por volver a verle!! ♥
Ayer Romeo y yo hicimos un pacto en el que acordamos que por la mañana y por la tarde ibamos un par de horas al parque con los amigos peluditos y luego habia que dormir la siesta porque mamá tenía que trabajar sin ser molestada. Este es el resultado ♥

Today Mr.R is coming back and we're so happy we can't stop smiling!! ♥ Yesterday Romeo and I made a deal; We'd go to the park with his furry friends for a couple of hours in the morning and in the afternoon and then he'd take a nap while Mom worked and wasn't disturbed. This is the result in pics ♥

I finished these two wristlets and they'll be available in my shop. I'm very pleased with the way they came out.

A las 6, esa es la hora a la que me he levantado para despedir a Mr.R que se iba al aeropuerto y no me he podido volver a dormir. Siempre que se tiene que ir de viaje me quedo triste y preocupada. No puedo evitarlo, me preocupo tanto que es enfermizo y no descanso hasta que me llama y me dice que está sano y salvo. Asi es que hasta que no me llame hoy estaré atacada de los nervios. Romeo estaba un poco mosqueado cuando vió la maleta pero luego cuando le he bajado se le ha pasado y ya sabe que se queda aqui conmigo.
De las mil fotos que tenemos de él, ésta de abajo es la única en la que conseguí que mirara a la cámara fijamente. Odia las fotos y sale pitando cuando oye que sacas la cámara de la funda. Es una pena la verdad porque con lo que me gusta sacar fotos si colaborara un poco sería más fácil y divertido para todos. Yo dejaría de perseguirle y él dejaría de ignorarme. En casa nos hace mucha gracia esta foto porque creemos que transmite muy bien su personalidad. Romeo es capaz de sentarse y quedarse quieto si se lo pides pero pone cara de serio y esa seriedad hace que nos tronchemos de la risa ♥

6 am, that's the time I got up this morning to say goodbye to Mr.R. He's flying to Spain as I write this. So it'll be just Romeo and me for a few days.
I couldn't go back to sleep after he left. I get so so worried that I can't rest until he calls me and tells me that he's safe and sound. I'm expecting that call in about 4 hours. Romeo got a bit nervous when he saw the suitcase but now he's sound asleep and snoring.
Of all the pictures we have of him (no less than a thousand I'm sure..) this one below is the only one in which I managed to have him look straight into the camera. He hates pictures and runs away whenever he hears that you're taking the camera out. I wish it weren't so because it'd be more fun for all of us. I'd stop chasing him around and he'd stop ignoring me and he'd even pose for me Oh! what a dream!! haha
This pic makes us laugh because of his serious look. It pretty much conveys his personality. He's able to sit and don't move until you tell him to and he gets all serious..he's really paying attention, arghh he's cute!! ♥

Algunos bolsos y fundas se han ido a Madrid a hacer felices a algunas personitas. Gracias por todos los cumplidos y los comentarios. Hace que quiera superarme cada día. Me divierte crearlos pero también me divierte envolverlos y por eso ayer mientras preparaba los paquetes me lo estaba pasando pipa! Creo que una buena presentación es importante y habla mucho de la persona que está detrás. Siempre me han gustado los papeles de regalo y los objetos de papelería. Tengo un bote lleno de lápices a cada cual más bonito y me vuelven loca los papeles de cartas bonitos, los sobres, las plumas, etc. El otro día vi esta idea y me gustó. Raro es el día que no veo algo que me gusta o que me inspira, como Poppy Treffy o este libro y este otro.

Some bags and cozies are on their way to Madrid to make some people happy. Thanks for all the compliments and comments. They're a great support. I have fun making all the bags and everything but I also enjoy wrapping them up and I had fun doing that yesterday evening. I believe that a good presentation is also very important, it speaks of the person behind everything. I'm a huge perfectionist after all..and sometimes it's a pain in the neck when I can't get it the way I want and I get all frustrated!
I've always liked wrapping papers (and almost any color paper really..) and stationery. I have a can full of beautiful pencils and I go crazy with cute envelopes, fountain pens, writing paper, etc. I saw this idea the other day and I really liked it. There's always something inspiring or that I like out there, like Poppy Treffy and this book and this other book too.

The Birdie Bag

Os presento al Birdie Bag, el nuevo bolso que se va para la tienda. Estoy muy orgullosa de él, qué os parece?? Lleva muchas horas de trabajo, paciencia y cómo no mucho cariño ♥ ♥ El bolso está acolchado con dos telas de algodón grueso coordinadas y resistentes y tiene un aplique de un pajarito hecho también por mi en uno de los laterales. La cremallera está adornada con un pompón y un cordoncito a juego para abrir y cerrarla cómodamente. Por dentro está forrado y lleva un panel (también forrado) en el fondo para poder llenar el bolso de cosas y que no pierda la forma. Las asas son muy resistentes y lo suficientemente largas para poder colgarlo del brazo incluso llevando un abrigo.

This is the Birdie Bag, the new handbag that is available in my shop. I'm very proud of it, what do you think?? I made it from scratch and it took me many hours of work, patience and love of course to finish it ♥♥ The bag is quilted with two coordinating heavyweight cotton fabrics and embellished with a birdie applique (also handmade by me) and a pompom and string to pull the zipper easily. Inside the bag is fully lined and it also has a lined bottom sleeve panel with heavy cardboard inside to add support and sturdiness. The handles are very resistant and long enough to throw it over your shoulder even when wearing a coat.

Me he aplicado el lema de los manitas ; "para qué comprarlo si lo puedo hacer yo" y he aqui mis dos últimas creaciones, tachán!Un delantal muy alegre y colorido y una bonita bolsa para guardar las bolsas de plástico. Llevaba tiempo queriendo hacer una porque la antigua ya no valía, estábamos guardando las bolsas en un cajón y aquello parecía que iba a estallar!
Ahora estamos la mar de contentos con el invento y tenemos un cajón nuevo jeje

I guess I think like most crafty people (especially those that love to sew) and said to myself "why buy it if I can sew it?" so here are my last creations. A cute and colorful apron and a beautiful plastic bag dispenser. I've been wanting to make one for a long time because the one we had wasn't good anymore and we were storing all the bags in a drawer that was so full of them that everytime we had to grab one it was a pain in the neck.

I love the purple ribbon I found with tiny people holding hands, it's so cute ♥

And this is cute too, look at this sleepy face ahrrr what's not to love?? ♥ ♥

Happiness and sadness in the same day

La alegria ayer fue recibir el paquete de Phyllis desde CA. Como siempre generosa me mandó el último libro de Amy Butler, lana peruana en varios colores para afieltrar, una revista de ganchillo, telas coloridas y originales, chocolate y cacao para los labios con olor a chicle y caramelos. También se acordó de Romeo e incluyó galletitas perrunas con sabor a mantequilla de cacahuete!! ya os podeis imaginar la reacción del peludito claro... ♥

The happiness yesterday was receiving the package from Phyllis in CA. She was so generous!! she sent me Amy Butler's In Stitches, peruvian felting woool in several colors, a crochet magazine, nice colorful fabrics, a bar of yummy chocolate and three lip smacker lip balms. She also thought of Romeo and enclosed treats for him (peanut butter flavor!!) so he was so happy too!!! ♥

La mala notica ayer por la tarde fue la repentina muerte de un amiguito de Romeo en el parque. He pasado muy mala noche por el shock y recordando al perrito. Se llamaba Cherami (querido amigo en francés) y era un golden retriever de menos de un año de edad. Todo sucedió muy rápido. Después de hora y media jugando en el parque llegó la hora de irse a casa y cuando su ama se disponía a ponerle la correa se desplomó y murió. Intentamos reanimarle pero no pudimos y nos sentimos enormemente impotentes e inútiles al ver cómo se le escapaba la vida delante de nuestros ojos. No pude contener las lágrimas. La imagen de Cherami yaciendo inerte en el suelo me hizo recordar la muerte de mi Panchiño hace 3 meses. Entiendo por lo que deben estar pasando sus dueños. Lo siento muchísimo.

The bad news yesterday evening was the sudden death of one of Romeo's friends in the park. I slept very bad last night because of the shock and thinking about the dog. He was called Cherami (which means dear friend in french) and he was a Golden retriever of less than a year old. Everything happened very fast. After one hour and a half playing in the park it was time to go back home and his owner was going to put him his collar when suddenly he fell on the ground and died. We tried to reanimate him but it was too late, there was nothing we could do and we felt extremely frustrated and useless seeing how his life was vanishing in front of us. I started crying. The image of Cherami on the ground reminded me of the death of Panchiño 3 months ago. I know what his owners are going through right now and I keep them in my prayers and wish them strength. I'm deeply sorry.

Ummm así da gusto despertarse y hasta madrugar un sábado para ir a dar un buen paseo con Romeo mientras Mr R. juega un partidito de fúltbol matutino.
Qué decir de las magdalenas de manzana...pues que están que te mueres!!! si todavía no las has probado tienes la receta aqui. La caja que las contiene es una caja de latón reciclada de un panetone que compré, a que es muy bonita?? es un paisaje de Venecia con sus góndolas y todo y hasta tiene un cielo con gaviotas!! fantástica!! ♥

Hmm smelling and seeing these homemade muffins for breakfast makes it easier to get up early on a saturday and take Romeo for a long walk while Mr R. plays a football match.
What can I say about the apple muffins??... well, they're simply deeelicious!!! The box they're in is a tin box recycled from a panetone I bought the other day. Isn't it beautiful?? it's a painting of Venice with the gondolas and everything and it even has a sky with seagulls!! I love it!! ♥

Como dije ayer hoy he ido a correos a hacer unos envíos. Por suerte todo ha ido bien con la gente de correos y por una vez no me han puesto pegas. Estas son algunas cosas que he mandado a una tienda en España y que (valga la redundancia) también podrán encontrarse (o similares) en mi etsy shop a partir de la semana que viene.
Me voy pitando que tengo unas madalenas en el horno!!! ♥

Yesterday I said that today I'd go to the post office to send some stuff and for the first time the staff at the post office didn't put a lot of obstacles in my way. Slowly getting back

Que mala es la gripe.. fiebre, tos, pañuelos y muuucho cansancio. Me he pasado los últimos dias en la cama y sin poder salir por miedo a empeorar... pero ya estoy bien y mañana lo voy a celebrar yendo a dar un largo paseo con Romeo. También tengo que ir a correos a ver a las brujas que trabajan alli y hacer unos envíos. Mañana hablaré más de ello y pondré algunas fotos como adelanto de lo que habrá en la tienda a partir de la semana que viene ♥ ♥

I've been sick in bed with the flu... running a fever, caughing, blowing my nose and feeling veeery tired. I couldn't go out in case I got worse...but now I'm fine again and tomorrow I'll celebrate it taking Romeo for a long walk. I also have to go to the post office and see the evil ladies that work there... I need to send a couple packages. Funda para la tetera, regalo para mi madre. Los Reyes me han traido una tetera a mi también y tendré que hacerle una fundita para mantener la infusión calentita durante más tiempo jeje. La de mi madre la hice completamente a ojo porque no tenia las medidas y menudo ojo señores porque acerté de pleno yupi!!!

Bufanda regalo para mi madre. Utilicé un mohair dorado con pequeñas bolitas que encontré en una tienda aqui, un trabajo de chinos porque aunque está hecha a punto bobo tuve que usar agujas super pequeñas y tejer despacio porque la lana tenía muchos pelitos que se enredaban facilmente.

Mohair scarf, a gift from me to my Mom. She liked it very much. I found the wool in a small store here. I had to use very small needles and be careful and work slowly because the wool got tangled easily.

Ya estamos de vuelta en Sofia!! da mucha penita dejar Madrid pero nos ha alegrado comprobar que le fenómeno de "invierno cálido" también ha llegado a estas tierras y no hace tanto frio como temíamos yupi!! Romeo ha hecho bien el viaje también y se ha puesto muy contento al volver a ver a sus amigos en el parque.
Gracias por todos los mensajes recibidos durante nuestra ausencia. No me llevé el portátil a Madrid y ya echaba de menos postear jeje
Cada vez que vuelvo de un viaje mi prioridad es conseguir que todo vuelva a la normalidad lo antes posible. Durante los próximos días me pasearme por mis blogs favoritos que me apetece mucho y seguiré currando para poder abrir la tienda a finales de mes. Es increíble lo liada que he estado en Navidades y no he podido adelantar todo lo que me hubiera gustado. La buena noticia es que como el año pasado me porté muy muy bien los Reyes me han regalado una máquina de coser nueva y estoy encantada!!! ♥

We're back in Sofia!! it was sad to leave Madrid but we're glad that it isn't as cold as we expected here yay!!! Romeo is fine and he seemed very happy to see his friends in the park this afternoon.
Thanks for all the messages received while we were away. Whenever I travel, as soon as I get back I want eveything to get back to normal again. I don't like changes very much I guess I'm more a routine lover kind of person. Anyway, I'll be visiting my favorite blogs in the next days, I missed the fact of being able to read them daily, and I'll be working and sewing to have everything ready for the etsy shop by the end of the month. I was so busy in Madrid with other things that as far as crafts are concerned I didn't accompish all the things I wanted. The good news is that I was such a good girl last year that I got a new sewing machine for Christmas, and I'm so happy!!! ♥

Gracias por todos vuestros mensajes de apoyo y de cariño. Os lo agradecemos de todo corazón! Siempre intento contestarlos personalmente pero a veces por falta de tiempo se hace imposible y más en estas fechas de tanto trajín y en las que además la conexión a internet ha decidido que también quiere vacaciones. Esperemos que en Madrid funcione mejor.

Aqui están las fotos de la cena de anoche!! nos pusimos las botas y todo estaba buenísimo, gracias Daniela!! Tomamos ensalada shopska, liutenitsa, otras dos salsas para untar cuyos nombres ahora no recuerdo; una de ellas estaba compuesta mayoritariamente de pepino y yogur y la otra de berenjena. También probamos pimientos rellenos de alubias y rollos de hojas de vid rellenos de arroz con nueces y pasas. Rafa tenía una versión de rollitos con carne y cómo no la famosa banitsa!!! además no sólo comimos la típica banitsa hecha de sirene y huevos (el sirene es el queso típico de aqui que es parecido al feta griego) sino que también degustamos una versión dulce rellena de calabaza y nueces, una pasada!!!!♥

Here are the pics of last night's dinner!! we ate a lot and everything was delicious, thanks Daniela!! We had shopska salad and several dips like liutenitsa and another two (I can't remember the names right now..) one of them was mainly made of cucumber and yogurt and the other one of eggplant. We also ate roasted red peppers filled with beans and rolls made of vine leaves filled with rice, walnuts and raisins. Rafa had a non-vegetarian version for himself, and of course the popular banitsa!!! it was so good!!! and we even ate two kinds of banitsa; the regular one made of sirene and eggs (sirene is the typical bulgarian white cheese similar to greek feta) and another kind filled with pumpkin and walnuts, awesome!!!♥

Esta noche vamos a casa de una amiga búlgara que ha preparado una cena con comida típica búlgara. Después de tanto tiempo aqui ya lo hemos probado casi todo excepto una buena banitsa casera. Todo el mundo dice que no tiene nada que ver con la que se puede comprar en las tiendas. Seguro que no se equivocan porque no hay nada como la comida hecha en casa y con cariño. Ya os contaré si nos gusta! Esta mañana he salido a comprar una botella de Tcherga para llevársela a la anfitriona. El Tcherga es un vino búlgaro que debe su nombre a un tipo de alfombra que hacen artesanalmente aqui. Al igual que la alfombra combina colores éste vino combina el sabor y el aroma de tres tipos de uvas de los valles. Las velas son un regalo que compré el otro día en una tienda de inspiración india que descubrí. El collar y el broche también son regalos pero no comprados sino hechos por mi con mucho cariño para dos amigas ★

Tonight we're going to a bulgarian friend's house that has prepared several typical bulgarian dishes for dinner. After so long in this country we have already tried almost everything except for the banitsa. Everybody says that homemade banitsa is very different from the one you can buy at the stores. I'll let you know if we like it!! This morning I bought a bottle of Tcherga wine to bring to the hostess. This wine is named after a typical bulgarian craft made rug that combines beautiful colors, so this wine combines the exquisite taste of three grapes from the Thracian Valley in Bulgaria. The candles are from a store of indian inspiration I found downtown the other day. The felt necklace and the corsage are also presents not bought though but made by me with lots of love for two friends ★

No sabe uno lo enganchada que esta a esto del blog hasta que se estropea la conexión y se tira 4 dias incomunicada, qué frustración!! la vuelta a la blogosfera no es la única cosa buena que me ha sucedido hoy porque mi novio ha traido un par de sobres acolchados a casa (habia ido a recogerlos a correos sin decirme nada jeje) y cual ha sido mi sorpresa cuando me he encontrado con un precioso bolso con florecita regalo de Olivia-P y una preciosa tarjeta de navidad y un set de portaláminas, goma de borrar y libretita de Mabel de MDT, es la primera en llegar qué ilusión!! Nos vamos a Madrid la semana que viene y temía que no me diera tiempo a recibir ninguna de las tarjetas. Las fotos de todo aqui el sábado que es cuando podré subirlas. Muchas gracias a las dos!!

El brazo ya no me duele tanto pero todavía tiene que descansar y tengo prohibido coger las agujas. Las fotos de las labores las saqué la semana pasada cuando empecé los proyectos, dos de ellos los dejé casi finiquitados. Los remataré en Madrid y pondré las fotos. Siento no poder decir más porque se trata de regalos sorpresa, sólo puedo hablar de la última foto que es la manta para el transportín de Romeo para que esté calentito y cómodo durante el viaje en avión. El primer día que vió el transportín se asustó mucho porque es un mamotreto enorme pero ya le gusta y hasta ha decidido que mola dormir dentro jeje

You don't realize how hooked you are to this blog thing until your internet server drops the connection for 4 days and you start to go nuts!! it's so frustrating!! Coming back to the blog world hasn't been the only good thing that has happened to me today. My bf came home with 2 packages that he had picked up from the post office whithout telling me so it was a huge surprise and sure it was a huuuuge surprise to open them and find a beautiful handbag with a flower made by Olivia-P and a Christmas card and a little writing set from Mabel of MDT, it's the first Xmas card I recieved from the Xmas card exchange that Xhiara organized. We're leaving for Madrid next week and I was afraid that none of the cards would make it here on time. I'll show the pics on saturday. Thank you so much girls!!

My arm is doing better but I can't knit yet, danm it!! I've been doing other things but I really miss the needles.. Below are the pics of the projects I started last week before my arm started to hurt so bad. I had time to finish almost two of them. I can't talk much about these because they're surprises. I'll post pics of the finished projects in Madrid. I can only tell you that the last pic is of the blankie that I'm crocheting for Romeo using one of the hooks that Phyllis sent me. I want him to be warm and cozy during the flight. We bought his transportation cage the other day. It's huge and he got really scared when he saw it but now he likes it and he even thinks that it's cool to sleep inside :-)

Por fin puedo conectarme y escribir!! después de múltiples de llamadas y un cabreo soberano el proveedor de internet nos ha dado una explicación a la falta de funcionamiento y alega problemas eléctricos. 4 días sin conexión y me estaba tirando de los pelos!!!. Ahora parece que funciona... a ver si dura!
Cambiando de tema, todos estos días sin internet me han cundido mucho y he estado muy hacendosa, tanto que tengo una tendinitis en el brazo derecho de tanto tricotar! Entre otras muchas cosas he estado haciendo más etiquetas para regalos y nada de tricotar unos días para que el brazo descanse snif snif....

Finally I can log in and write!! after millions of calls and getting angry the internet provider company gave us an explanation for the lack of service and they claim to have electrical problems. 4 days and I was going nuts!! Now it seems to be working....hope it lasts!!
Changing the subject, I've been busy doing stuff, let me rephrase it: I've been knitting so much that I have tendinitis in my right arm!
I made some more Christmas tags ♥ they didn't involve knitting so my arm could rest

Christmas Tree Wall Hanging

La idea se me ocurrió cuando estaba con Romeo en el parque (le chifla jugar con ramitas e incluso las sube a casa si le dejamos!!) LLevaba varios días dándole vueltas a la idea de hacer un adorno con forma de árbol para colgar en la pared pero no estaba segura de los materiales que quería utilizar hasta ese día en el parque cuando me di cuenta de que el mejor material sería precisamente el material del que están hechos los árboles asi es que ese día la que volvió a casa con ramitas fui yo jeje.
Ahora cada vez que miro a la pared y veo el árbol sonrío porque de algún modo ese árbol representa mi amor por Romeo y nuestros juegos diarios en el parque y mi amor por las Navidades y la naturaleza.
El árbol mide 61 cms de alto x 31 cms de ancho y es mi entrada para el Whiplash de este mes en la categoría de decoración.

I came up with the idea of making this Christmas tree wall hanging while I was in the park with Romeo (he loves to play with twigs and he even brings them home if we let him!) For several days I had been thinking about making some kind of christmas tree ornament to hang on the wall but I wasn't sure about the materials I wanted to use until that day in the park when I was playing with Romeo and I saw so many twigs and leaves on the grass. Then it clicked!! it seemed perfect to make a tree with real twigs so that day it was me and not Romeo who brought twigs home :-)
Now everytime I look at the wall and see the tree I feel warm inside and smile because somehow this tree represents my love for Romeo and our daily playtime in the park as well as my love for Christmas and nature.
The tree is 24" tall and 12" wide. I'm entering it in this month's Whiplash in the decoration category!!

Hice varios adornos a mano yo misma para colgarlos del árbol: bolas de fieltro en varios colores, calcetines de fieltro, una estrella de fieltro amarilla (está justo arriba del todo), un copo de nieve, un muñeco de nieve y un arbolito de fieltro relleno. El toque final lo di colgando también algunas monerias encontradas en tiendas como una mariposa, corazoncitos y varias estrellitas.

I made several ornaments to hang from the tree such as; felt balls in different colors, felt stockings, felt yellow star (you can see it right on top) a snowflake, a snowman and a stuffed felt christmas tree. To give it the final touch I also added a couple of cute little things found at a local store like an orange butterfly, little hearts and stars.

También hice un calcetín de navidad a partir de un trozo de lana en varios colores afieltrada por mi, luego añadí el lazo naranja y las lentejuelas.

I also made a christmas stocking using a template and cutting it out from a piece of colorful felt made by me. Then I attached orange ribbon and sewed the sequins.

Y un copo de nieve. Tracé la plntilla sobre papel brillante, lo corté, hice un agujero con una aguja para pasar el hilo y voilà!!

And a snowflake. I traced the template on glittery paper, cut it, poked a hole with a needle to attach the string and voilà!!

Nos os perdais las fotos aqui. Curiosamente tiene una San bernardo que se llama como yo!!! ♥ ý tiene una carita de buena!! me alegra saber que le han gustado las galletitas que mandé ★

En el post anterior dije que haría unas albóndigas de seitán y aqui están!! me ha salido una rima y todo jeje Si eres vegetariano/a o simplemente te gusta probar nuevos platos vete corriendo aqui a por la receta porque están para chuparse los dedos!! ♥

Si nadie sabe dónde se puede comprar tela de Etsuko o Lecien en Madrid supongo que entonces tendré que comprarla por internet.

También dije que iba a ver "Maria antonieta" y asi ha sido :-) No es una peli con muchos diálogos y la trama es más bien escasa y lenta por eso creo que aburre a la mayoría de la gente pero a mi me ha encantado ♥ Lo que más me ha gustado de la historia de esta extravagante mujer a la que apodaron " La Reina de las deudas" ha sido los decorados sumptuosos y los vestidos tan increibles que llevan aparte de la fotografía y la banda sonora. También me fascinó ver tantas telas y colores bonitos, pasteles, perritos y zapatos!! ♥ Soy una fan de Sofia Coppola y me parece genial como combina la música moderna con gente vestida de época y su habilidad para captar bellos momentos como los rayos de sol del amanecer reflejados en una estanque o una mariquita que echa a volar.

I also said that I'd watch "Marie Antoinette" and I did :-) It doesn't have a lot of dialogues and the plot is very simple and rather slow so I think that's why a lot of people don't like it but I loved it!! ♥ What won me over to the story of the extravagant woman called "the Queen of Debt" were the sumptuous sets, gorgeous costumes as well as the photography and the soundtrack. I also loved seeing so many rich colors, fabrics, pastries, poochies and shoes!!♥ I'm a fan of Sofia Coppola and I think she does great in combining modern music with people in period costumes. I also love her ability to capture beautiful moments such as the sun reflecting in a pond during sunrise and a ladybug flying away.

Tal y como evidencian las fotos este finde hemos estado decorando la casa con adornos navideños. Iré subiendo más fotos en los próximos días. Las luces de la foto de arriba son de Ikea de hace un par de años. Me encanta poner lucecitas por todas partes ♥ Son las primeras navidades para Romeo y parece encantado. El árbol de navidad es su favorito, le gusta tanto que se planta a su lado y lo guarda como si fuera su más valioso tesoro! ★

As you can see in the pics, this weekend we've been decorating the house for Christmas. I'll be posting more pics in the next days. The lights from the pic above are from Ikea and I got them a couple of years ago. I love to put little lights everywhere ♥ This is Romeo's first Christmas and he seems thrilled. The christmas tree is his favorite. He likes it so much that he sits besides it and guards it like if it was his most valuable treasure!★

Le vuelvo loco jugar con palos y subirlos a casa si es posible, a veces son más grandes que él jeje He contado ya que en enero empieza el "cole"?? ★ a la vuelta de las vacaciones de navidad empezaremos a ir a un club de adiestramiento cuatro dias en semana. La verdad es que no lo necesita tanto como otros perros que conocemos porque obedece cuando le llamamos y no es nada destructor pero aún asi creemos que será beneficioso y divertido para todos. Qué ganas de empezar!!

He loves to play with sticks and bring them home if possible... sometimes they're bigger than himself haha Have I already told you that we'll be going to "school" in january?? ★ yeah when we get back from Madrid after our Christmas holiday we'll be taking Romeo to a training club four days a week. The truth is that he doesn't need it as much as other dogs we know because he's already very obedient and he doesn't chew on things or misbehaves but we still think that it will be very good and fun for all so we're really looking forward to it!!

Y por último si os gusta todo lo relacionado con el diseño retro y vintage no os podeis perder print and pattern y por cierto tengo una pregunta a ver si alguien me puede ayudar. Dónde se pueden encontrar telas de etsuko y lecien en Madrid?? ya he visitado las webs pero quisiera saber si alguien sabe si alguna tienda las tiene please... Me voy a hacer estas albóndigas y a ver esta peli!! ♥ ciao!!

Todos los años preparo sorpresas en Navidad y este año me he inspirado en el recuerdo de los calendarios que solía comprar mi madre cuando mi hermana y yo eramos pequeñas. Eran calendarios navideños con ventanitas que se abrian y dibujos de papá noël, pastorcillos y el portal de belén. Los recuerdo con mucha ternura. Cada día abriamos una ventanita y descubriamos un chocolatito que rápidamente nos comiamos entre risas.
Para este año y con ese recuerdo de infancia en mente, he creado un calendario de adviento formado por 25 cajitas de cerillas decoradas y numeradas. Cada mañana se abre una cajita y se descubre una sorpresa!! ♥ Mañana empieza la cuenta atrás!!! ★

Every year I prepare surprises for Christmas and this year I've been inspired by the advent calendars that my Mom used to buy when my sister and I were small. They were cute calendars with little windows and drawings of santa and the baby Jesus. I have fond memories of hanging the calendar and opening one window every morning and finding a little chocolate.
This year and keeping in mind that childhood memory I've created an advent calendar made up of 25 matchboxes. Each one of them is carefully decorated and has a number written on it. Every morning we open one and discover the susprise!! ♥ what a sweet countdown! we start tomorrow!! ★

Romeo está durmiendo (hemos ido al parque y ha jugado tanto que está agotado) y Rafa está jugando al fútbol, ah y muy importante: el vecino de abajo hoy no toca música!!! yupi!! eso significa que reina un silencio sepulcral en la casa. sólo oigo algún que otro ronquido de Romeo y las teclas del portátil. qué maravilla!!! ♥ Recuerdo que hace años tenía música puesta a todas horas, me levantaba con música y me acostaba escuchando música. No se muy bien cómo ni por qué cambié esos hábitos, puede que el yoga tuviera algo que ver pero el caso es que desde hace unos años apenas veo la tele ni enciendo la radio. Ya no practico yoga, supongo que me saturé, pero si que conservo el silencio. Ahora disfruto mucho de él. Todos los días siento la necesidad de pasar algún tiempo a solas y en silencio. Me concentro y trabajo mejor.
Voy a seguir disfrutando de mi ratito de tranquilidad mientras bebo mi infusión favorita. Os dejo una foto de mi taza japonesa y de Romeo durmiendo. Hasta mañana...

As I write this Romeo is sleeping (we came back from the park and he's very tired) and Rafa is playing a football match, Oh and very important; the neighbor donwstairs isn't playing the guitar tonight, yay!!! so that means that the house is in complete silence, except for Romeo's snores and my typing haha, it's so wonderful!!! &hearts I really love silence. Years ago I'd always be listening to music. I used to wake up in the morning with music and listen to music before going to bed. That changed a few years ago, i'm not sure how or why, maybe yoga had something to do with it I don't know but the thing is that now I hardly watch the tv or play music. I don't practice yoga anymore, I guess I was saturated and needed a change but I've kept the silence. Every day I like to spend sometime alone and enjoy a moment of silence. I concentrate and work better and I've come to appreciate it very much.

El tiempo sigue tan húmedo y frio fuera que lo único que apetece es quedarse en casa calentita tejiendo y leyendo revistas tan inspiradoras y bonitas como el último número de Marie Claire Idées. Como siempre, está repleta de fotos preciosas, realizadas con mucho gusto y con proyectos para todos los gustos y niveles. He leido en algún que otro blog que este número de invierno ha decepcionado a alguna gente. No es mi caso. Entiendo que cada número tiene que ser distinto y no podemos pretender que todo el contenido de la revista nos entusiasme pero a mi personalmente este número me ha gustado mucho y no me canso de mirar las fotos con tantas estrellas, árboles, coronas y bolas combinados en una gama de colores que encuentro perfecta! ♥
Ya he comentado en algún otro post cuánto me gustan las navidades, vuelvo a ser como una niña ♥ me apasiona decorar la casa y cuidar cada detalle. Salir de compras en estas fechas se convierte en una fiesta con las luces en la calle y los escaparates navideños. Mi truco para no agobiarme (me agobio con facilidad) es no esperar hasta el último momento sino comprar regalos cuando los veo. A veces pasas por una tienda y ves algo que es perfecto para un amigo o un familiar. Ya sé que puede sonar exagerado tener un regalo escondido en el armario 4 meses pero la experiencia me ha demostrado que más vale eso que no estar luego dando vueltas y lamentándonos por no haberlo comprado antes!
La rosa de fieltro de la foto sirve de marca páginas y la hice siguiendo el patrón que hay en una de las revistas que me envió Phyllis. Es rápida y fácil de hacer y puede que haga más en varios colores.

It's so humid and cold out that the only thing I feel like doing this morning is staying at home, warm and cozy, knitting and reading the last issue of Marie Claire Idées. Like always, it's filled with beautiful pictures and great projects suitable for all, from beginners to experts. I've read in some blogs that this issue has disappointed some people. It's not my case. I understand that every issue has to be different and it'd be wrong to think that we have to love all the content of the magazine but I personally love this issue. I can't stop looking at the stars, trees, wreaths and balls combined (in my opinion) in such a perfect range of colors! ♥
I have mentioned before how much I like Christmas. I'm like a little girl again ♥ I enjoy decorating the house and taking care of every detail. Going shopping these days is like a feast with so many lights in the streets and the ornaments in the window shops. My secret to not get anxious (I get stressed very easily) over all the Christmas shopping is to buy a present when I see it. I mean sometimes you see something in a store that would be perfect for a relative or a friend. I don't wait until the last moment to buy my presents. I know it can sound crazy to have a present hidden in the closet for 4 months but that's better than not finding it later and feeling sorry for not having bought it before!
I made the felted rose bookmark from the picture following the pattern in one of the magazines that Phyllis sent me. Easy and fast to make, I will probably make more in different colors.

En un país como Bulgaria, dónde el tiempo no es tan bueno como en España ♥ y dónde llueve y nieva a mansalva.... algunas veces es imposible salir y no ponerse perdido!! Romeo lo sabe bien aunque no parece importarle, él es feliz y se lo pasa bien en el parque haga el tiempo que haga y luego claro hay que darse una ducha para volver a estar limpio y esponjoso jeje

In a country like Bulgaria, where the weather isn't as good as in Spain ♥ and where it rains and snows almost non-stop.... sometimes it's just impossible to go out and not get dirty!! Romeo knows it well although it doesn't seem to bother him, he's happy and likes to go to the park whether it rains or not and then we have to give him a shower to be clean and fluffy again ♥

Ayer fue un día muy lluvioso pero aún así por la tarde nos llevamos a Romeo al parque para que jugara con sus amiguitos. A la vuelta me llevé una gran alegria cuando sonó mi móvil y al cogerlo escuché la voz de mi amiga Ariane!! ♥ llevábamos prácticamente desde el verano sin hablar porque se cambió de casa y tiene una niña pequeña que la mantiene ocupadísima. A todo eso también hay que añadirle que no le han podido instalar la línea de teléfono hasta ahora y no ha podido conectarse a internet en todo este tiempo... asi es que estaba más que justificado que nos tiráramos media hora cotorreando y poniendonos al día!
Después, y con la oreja toda roja jeje terminé algunas cositas en fieltro y una tarjeta para mi padre porque dentro de unos días le operan y quiero desearle una pronta recuperación ♥

Even though yesterday was a very rainy day we took Romeo to the park in the afternoon so he could play with his friends. He had a great time and he got very dirty too.... When we got back home my cell phone started to ring and I got very happy when I picked it up and heard the voice of my dear friend Ariane!! ♥ We hadn't talked since the summer because she moved and she also has a little baby girl that keeps her very busy. Also they didn't have the phone line installed, until now, and she couldn't connect to the internet... so we talked for half an hour and caught up with each other!
Afterwards (with a red ear haha) I finished some more felt things and a Get well Soon card for my father who will be operated on in a few days and to whom I wish a fast recovery ♥

Si alguien ha hecho uno o sabe de alguien que lo haya hecho o algo parecido que pudiera adaptarse a este tipo de diseño agradecería mucho que me lo dijeran porque la ayuda me vendría de perlas ★

I want to make/sew a natural cotton yoga mat for my favorite Yogi ♥ but I can't find a pattern or instructions or tips, nothing!! Has anyone made one or know about someone that has made one or something similar that could help me out with the design?? I could really use some help here ★

Busy rainy day

Hoy está lloviendo mucho y no tiene pinta de que vaya a parar. El paseo matutino con Romeo se ha visto afectado y ha tenido que ser más corto porque nos estabamos empapando!!
De vuelta en casa él decide que se va a echar una siestecita ♥ y yo me preparo una taza de mi infusión favorita llamada "tardes lluviosas" para entrar en calor mientras repaso mentalmente algunos de mis últimos proyectos y labores y decido por dónde empezar .
Estos días ando liada preparando más tarjetas de navidad como las de la foto y tejiendo. Ya tengo el abriguito para Pipo casi terminado y algunas sorpresas más que enseñaré más adelante ★

Today is raining cats and dogs and it doesn't look like it will stop soon. My morning walk with Romeo had to be shorter because we were getting soaked even under the umbrella!!
Back home he decides he wants to take a nap ♥ and I make myself a cup of my favorite infusion called "rainy afternoons" to warm up while I mentally go over some of my latest projects and knitting and I decide where to start.
These days I'm pretty busy making more Christmas cards like the ones you can see in the picture below and the sweater for Pipo which is almost done, as well as some other Christmas surprises that I will show soon ★
